10. The club that kicks off the top ten is in the heart of Wheeling, WV and is owned by Carole. Her and Jack bring the community there a cheerful place to party. They also have a very colorful house cast in the likes of Candie Lynn Summers, The Fresh Girls, Lady Sapphire and so many more. If you do not know by now, we are talking about the O Zone!
 
9. New to the town of Parkersburg, WV, a club that caters to the men. Phil and Tom offer the LGBT community, an elegant look at male revue at its best. It is a true testament of what the boys like and the place they call Our Place.
 
8. This club has the makings of a place that could be nationally recognized as the club of the century from top to bottom. If you check it out, you will see exactly what I am talking about; elegance, party atmosphere, and enough space to house most of West Virginia's LGBT community. This is a must see in Huntington, WV, The Jackhammer!
 
7. This club is the home of West Virginia Queer News Diva of the Year, Ms Bodaxia La Croix. Club La Cage always has a party on the weekend and looks to provide one of the best shows on any given saturday. These are just a few reasons why that lands La Cage at number seven amongst 2009's best bars
 
6. A newcomer to the state but seems to be a rising star here. The Wild Coyote Saloon attracts entertainment of all kinds. It houses the comedy talents of Ms WV Us of A At Large Boom Boom La Rue, The House of Browne, and the multi-talented Mr or Ms M. If you have yet to see this club, its a must see in our great state.
 
5. A quaint bar in Huntington, WV owned by our party buddy Dave. It is also the new home to many of our favorite entertainers, Martina Deserae, Frankie La Valle, Ashley Stone, and so many others. They always bring a hot show of illusion and leave you wanting more.
 
4. In Charleston, WV. The Broadway continues to be the elite club with the talents of Michelle St James, Viki Williams, XTC and so many others. There is always a party on the dance floor and the drinks are always flowing. This is a must see in Charleston, WV.
 
3. Another club in Parkersburg, WV that continues to bring the best in entertainment and patrons statewide. Vince and Mimi are great hosts leaving you with a sense of friendship and family after visiting. You can find a party on the dance floor and some of the finest entertainers in the state on any given saturday night.
 
2. This club out of Morgantown, WV continues to be a contender for the top spot each and every year. The owners James and Montaz go above and beyond the call of duty for its patrons and what can be said about their entertainment, WOW! With flawless entertainers like Robin Hearts, Montaz, Patsy Plastic and so many more and those are just a few reasons why they sit at number 2 amongst the top gay bars in WV.
 
1. At number one is a crowd pleaser. A gay bar with much respect and most of all, with the community around it. THE STONEWALL in Huntington, WV. This club has been in existence for over 15 years, and it offers the people a place to come to have a good time in a safe atmosphere. They try to accomodate everyone and cater to what their patrons want.
 
It offers to the community, several events that are being planned now, that will bring gay awareness . They want the people in the area to have a sense of community, not only a great night life.
 
The owners are Bob Williamson, Keith Combs, and Eric Gorczyca. 
 
They have some of the finest bartenders around and their DJ, WOW!  As for cast queens, we have Laya Layta, Sasha Ryan, and so many more who frequent the stage.
 
They put a lot of work into this not only being a profitable business, but one that the community feels they are a part of. They listen to what you want and try to give it to you. They make sure their main goal is to make everyone who comes through its doors to have a fabulous time. They want you to not only feel that its a great place to party at, but also as your own place. The STONEWALL is to be congratulated for its great work as being the number one club of 2009.
